This year, BIPL will be hosting a Spirit Week the last week of May to get pumped for the Summer Reading Kickoff Foam Party on Saturday, May 31 from 1-3PM. ALL SPIRIT WEEK ACTIVITIES ARE ALL AGES. Each day has a different theme, indicated below:
Sunday – CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY
Monday – CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY
Tuesday – Blue Day – ALL AGES, ALL DAY
For Blue Island! Visit the library dressed in blue AND check out a book with a blue cover and receive a small prize. With permission, we will take a photo for social media.
Wednesday – Super Hero Cosplay – ALL AGES, ALL DAY
Come dressed as your favorite super hero and receive a comic book-themed drawstring bag. With permission, we will take a photo for social media.
Thursday – Book Character Cosplay – ALL AGES, ALL DAY
Come dressed as your favorite book character and receive a book-themed travel cup! With permission, we will take a photo for social media.
Friday – Crazy Streak – ALL AGES, ALL DAY (close at 5PM on Fridays)
Come check out the first book you’re going to read for Summer Reading this year and get one (1) fun streak of color in your hair to remind you to keep your reading streak going all summer! (temporary hair chalk will wash off if it comes in contact with water) With permission, we will take a photo for social media.
Saturday – Summer Reading Kickoff Foam Party – 1-3PM
Come sign up for the 2025 Summer Reading Program and play at our foam party! (After being in the foam, participants will be DAMP/WET and WILL NOT be allowed back inside the library. Thank you for your understanding).
