Legal Notice for Blue Island Public Library Roof Replacement

By authority of the Board of Library Trustees, sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time, on February 12, 2025, by the Board of Library Trustees of the Blue Island Public Library for the roof replacement. Any bids received after 2:00 p.m. will not be accepted. The project consists of selective demolition, roofing, green roof systems as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing work as required.

Responses shall be submitted in duplicate on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope marked as noted within the Bidding Documents on the outside and addressed to: Anna Wassenaar, Library Director, Blue Island Public Library. Responses are to be mailed or hand delivered to the Blue Island Public Library, 2433 York Street, Blue Island, IL 60406.

A nonmandatory pre-bid site conference and walk-through for contractors will be held on January 29, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the Blue Island Public Library, 2433 York Street, Blue Island, IL 60406.

Bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check made payable to the Blue Island Public Library equal to 10% of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful bidder.

The Blue Island Public Library Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all documents submitted or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the prequalification procedures and to approve trade contractors and vendors to bid in a manner serving the interest of the Blue Island Public Library.

All bidders must comply with the applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages, and bidders must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor and bidding, including Equal Opportunity Laws. In addition, the Blue Island Public Library is partnering with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) on their Green Infrastructure Partnership Program. All bidders must comply with MWRD requirements listed in the documents.

Bidding documents which include Project Manual and Project Plans will be on file and may be obtained by bidders on January 21, 2025, after 12:00 p.m., for electronic distribution through BHFX Planroom website: http://www.bhfxplanroom.com.
