Manga book cover for “Jujutsu Kaisen, Volume 1” by Gege Akutami, rendered in high-contrast anime style on a swirling teal background. The teenage protagonist, Yuji Itadori—with spiky pink hair, wide determined eyes, a bloodied cheek, and a red scarf over his dark uniform—raises his right hand aggressively toward the viewer, mouth agape in a shout. Massive, shadowy clawed hands with red nails emerge from the darkness behind him, evoking supernatural horror and action. The bold red title "Jujutsu Kaisen" spans the top, with "Story and Art by Gege Akutami" and volume number "1" at the bottom.

Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 1

by Gege Akutami

It’s a great manga about a high school kid trying to live by his grandpa’s words, which is to help people because you have the strength that others don’t. It’s funny, it’s cool, it gives existential crisis scenarios. But the opposite of Love IS Indifference. A lot of fighting and cursed energy powers that I think are pretty cool.
