The Conductors

All aboard the magic train! Where should we go? Who shall we visit? The conductors are here to get you where you need to be in this new play specifically designed for very young children. Featuring live music and playful audience participation, “The Conductors” is a silly, joyful, and engaging first theatre experience for children ages 2-6 and their families. Join the conductors as they explore community and connection along the railroad lines!

“The Conductors” has been created by Kerfuffle (www.kerfuffletvy.com), one of only three companies in the country exclusively producing theatre for very young audiences, and is the first production to tour with The Connecting Routes Project (www.connectingroutes.org). The Connecting Routes Project works to make theater accessible by touring productions from Chicago by train directly to communities across America’s railway network, striving to unite the nation through shared storytelling.

“The Conductors” is best enjoyed by children ages 2-6 and their families. Performances are approximately 45 minutes and free to attend! Feel free to BYOP (Bring Your Own Pillow) to sit on! Chairs are available upon request, and the space is wheelchair accessible. Masks required for audience members over the age of 2, and audiences will be seated in socially distanced “pods” with their groups/families.

This project is partially supported by an Individual Artists Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events, as well as a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency through federal funds provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
