The following guide was created by Simon Czerwinskyi, Civic Literacy Librarian for Oak Park Public Library, in collaboration with DuShaun Branch from CHANGE Illinois. Its goal is to help raise your awareness of who’s running for which office, and what issues are at stake in the polls.

Ballotpedia provides comprehensive election coverage in the 100 largest cities by population and also covers mayoral, city council, and district attorney elections in every state capital. In Illinois, this covers Chicago and Cook County, as well as Springfield.

Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights: Election Protection
Election Protection volunteers help Illinois and Indiana voters access the ballot during primary and general elections by answering calls to the nonpartisan 866-OUR-VOTE hotline and protecting access at the polls in select counties.

The Illinois Bar Association provides judicial evaluations and advisory polls by county.
