How to apply for a Blue Island Public Library card?
Blue Island Residents
To apply for a Resident Blue Island Public Library card, you must reside within the Blue Island city limits. **
You will need:
- A current, valid picture ID card (Driver’s License or State ID)
- An additional proof of residence such as a utility bill, voter’s registration card, or Blue Island vehicle sticker receipt.
Complete and sign the library card application form. Children under 18 years old will need the signature of a parent or legal guardian on the application as well. See Library Policies for Restrictions
Non Blue Island Residents
Certain Non-Residents may apply for a Blue Island Public Library card.
Individuals living in unincorporated areas within the boundaries of Community High School District 218 not served by a public library may purchase a non-resident Blue Island Public Library card by paying the annual non-resident library card fee. Please contact the library about the current annual fee.
Individuals owning taxable property within the Blue island Public Library boundaries may obtain a Blue Island Public Library card without charge by presenting their most recent tax bill for that property.
Patrons currently living in other Illinois communities served by public libraries may use their public library cards at the Blue Island Public Library upon verification of their library card’s status.
